Try Wargames Factory, Warlord and Perry Miniatures for a good mix of periods and prices.

Excellent idea, by the way. I had been planning on introducing AD&D Battlesystem and Battlesystem Skirmishes inot my campaign around name-level. While I'll still use them to fight the individual batttles, I'll mine Wizard Kings for ideas as well.Dangerous Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11494853825931603065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831219200072513986.post-65640055230752728172010-10-23T17:18:19.123-04:002010-10-23T17:18:19.123-04:00Wargames Foundry is a good starting point for hist...Wargames Foundry is a good starting point for historicals. If you decide to get into it, or if there are units they don't have that you want, any DBA (De Bellis Antiquitatus) forum can point you in the right direction - Ancients and Medievals are widely available from 28 mm to 10mm or even 6mm.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00155926145150934199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831219200072513986.post-30730162928989765662010-10-23T17:13:05.849-04:002010-10-23T17:13:05.849-04:00Good to here. I'd like to use Nightwick for every campaign (or at least most campaigns) I do from here on out, but -- despite my historical training -- I've always preferred the look of ancient soldiers for my Fantasy games.

Hopefully I'll be able to find some good medieval minis that I'd like to paint for a Nightwick campaign.Mirandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10745062840676790649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831219200072513986.post-42306893062549369992010-10-23T17:06:25.082-04:002010-10-23T17:06:25.082-04:00I think this was precisely what was envisioned and...I think this was precisely what was envisioned and implicated by early campaign play, and it was completely lost in most later editions in favor of continuing to send "name level" characters into dungeons. I'm looking forward with glee to sitting down to paint serried ranks of Macedonians, Persians, Thracians, and monsters for eventual name-level campaign wargaming. It looks like there are actually good 10mm Ancients out now, and hordes of those look *amazing* when arrayed. :)Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00155926145150934199noreply@blogger.com
